The minimum wage will increase in October by 2 percent to £5.93 per hour.
The increased rate for adults over the age of 21, will come into force with a new £2.50 hourly minimum wage for apprentices. Younger workers between the ages of 18-20 will get a 9p increase to £4.92 per hour, while 16 and 17-year-olds will get an increase of 7p to £3.64 per hour.
